Can You Believe the Bible?

Lectures 1-9

Lecture 1, God's Awesome Universe

This lecture is centered around intelligent design vs. science and explores religious faith among college professors, discusses psychology, religion and spirituality, and concludes with examples of God's awesome creation, from the tiniest atoms to the vast expanse of stars and galaxies. Be inspired by the amazing recurrence of Fibonacci's ratio throughout nature.

Lecture 2, The Bible's Medical Foreknowledge, Part 1

Early medical prescriptions found in the Egyptian Ebers Papyrus are contrasted with the Bible along with medical practices dating from Hippocrates to the 20th century. Old Testament health laws and practices such as circumcision are examined in the light of current medical knowledge. You will be fascinated by Dr. David Macht's research on the Bible's clean vs. unclean foods.

Lecture 3, The Bible's Medical Foreknowledge, Part 2

This lecture continues the examination of medical "facts" found in Hippocrates' writings, in the Talmud, and in the Qur'an and contrasts them with the Bible. Current recommendations with regard to food storage, eating eggs, lard, and blood are compared with biblical instructions along with the practice of marrying close relatives.

Lecture 4, The Bible's Medical Foreknowledge, Part 3

This concluding lecture on the Bible and medicine addresses medical consequences of homosexuality, bestiality, and sexual infidelity.  The dishonesty in television programs and the bias of the media when it comes to selecting "experts" to comment on the Bible  are exposed.

Lecture 5, Factual Errors: The Bible vs. All Other Books

This lecture begins with an example demonstrating the power of energy. One of the so-called "contradictions" of the Bible is addressed in answering the question of what it means to see God "face to face." Man's difficulty in producing error-free books is discussed, examining errors in the Qur'an and the Upanishads. The truths found in the Bible regarding crop rotation, ocean springs, continental drift, ocean currents, and even the dimensions of the ark which are all supported by science conclude this video.

Lecture 6, Evidence from Archaeology, Part 1

Archaeology's support for the Bible text is probed by examining the history of relics and the conclusions found in Werner Keller's book The Bible as History.  Continued erroneous propaganda by some archaeological "experts" is challenged by looking at the evidence for camels during the time of Abraham. Recent archaeological finds related to the biblical King David are shown.

Lecture 7, Evidence from Archaeology, Part 2

This vindication of attacks on the historicity of the Bible begins with a narrative of the development of liberal theology from the Age of Enlightenment through current day theological seminary education.  The initial discoveries of archaeologists including the Rosetta Stone, Babylon, Petra, Nineveh and the later discoveries in Israel all support the truth found in our Bible texts.

Lecture 8, Evidence from Archaeology, Part 3

This final lecture in the series on archaeology and the Bible praises genuine archaeologists and exposes would-be fame seekers. The recent excavation of the biblical site of Sodom is presented along with evidence for the ancient city's location and sudden destruction.

Lecture 9, Lot's Wife, Cain's Wife, Jonah & the Whale

The typical Bible story book account of what happened to Lot's wife is compared with what the biblical text actually says, and physical evidence supporting the text is examined. The question of "Whom did Cain marry?" is answered in light of the Old Testament prohibitions against marrying a close relative. Dr. Rampey explores reasons to doubt that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. (But what about a big fish?)
